National Biological Resources Database project - LAOS

We are conducting joint research through international agreements to research and discover overseas biological resources, which are the material of the biological industry, and to support the domestic industry with information on proven useful resources and the basis for securing them. So far, 29 biodiversity books have been published in Cambodia, Myanmar, Tanzania, and Mongolia, and 27 patents have been applied to reveal the usefulness of species in Southeast Asia, Africa, and the South Pacific Islands based on such biodiversity studies. Five of the overseas biological resources with excellent efficacy are transferred to the domestic bio-industry, and researches that can benefit the other countries and Korea are continuously being conducted.

-NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF BIOLOGICAL RESOURCES-

In our lab, we go to Laos to focus on the diversity of bird and mammal species. They discover new species and observe changes to existing species. In this way, we use overseas biological resources to study species diversity and conduct research on the value of use. If you go to the website of the National Institute of Biological Resources, you can see an encyclopedia.
